Studio Terms & Conditions

Arcane Tattoo & Piercing.
Studio Rules, Booking Terms & Code of Conduct

Last updated: 18 August 2026

Please read these Studio Terms & Conditions before booking or attending an appointment at Arcane Tattoo & Piercing.

These rules are in place to protect our clients, our artists and piercers, our studio, and the quality and safety of your tattoo or piercing.

  1. Identification and Age Verification

For safety, legal and licensing requirements, we may need to verify your identity and age before providing a tattoo or piercing service.

You must bring a valid, unexpired, physical government-issued photo ID, such as a driving licence or passport.

We do not accept photographs, screenshots or digital copies of identification shown on a mobile phone as a substitute for the required physical ID.

If you cannot provide the required identification, we may be unable to proceed with your appointment.

Where an appointment cannot proceed because the required identification has not been provided, any deposit will be handled in accordance with our booking and cancellation terms and applicable UK consumer law.

  1. Skin and Health Assessment

Before starting a procedure, our professional artist or piercer may visually assess the relevant area of skin.

We may refuse or reschedule a procedure where we reasonably believe that proceeding could present a health, safety or skin-related risk.

This may include, for example:

  • Sunburn or recently damaged skin
  • Open cuts, wounds or scratches
  • Significant bruising
  • Active acne, eczema flare-ups or rashes in the procedure area
  • Fresh or problematic scar tissue
  • Keloid or other scarring concerns
  • Any other visible condition that may make the procedure unsuitable or unsafe

For certain procedures, including tattoos and semi-permanent makeup, pregnancy or breastfeeding may also affect whether we can safely proceed.

If you are unsure whether a condition, medication or medical circumstance could affect your procedure, please discuss this with your artist or piercer before your appointment and seek appropriate medical advice where necessary.

  1. Numbing Cream and Topical Products

Please speak to your artist or piercer before applying any numbing cream or topical anaesthetic product to the procedure area.

Unauthorised or unsuitable products may affect the skin, the tattooing process, healing or the final result.

If a product has been applied without prior discussion or approval and our artist or piercer believes that proceeding may compromise safety or the quality of the procedure, we may need to cancel or reschedule the session.

  1. Deposits and Booking

Deposits are normally required to reserve an appointment with a specific artist or piercer.

A deposit is used to reserve your appointment time and is normally non-refundable, subject to your statutory rights and applicable UK consumer law.

Rescheduling

We require at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule an appointment.

Where sufficient notice is provided, we may allow your appointment to be rescheduled in accordance with our booking policy.

Requests made with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in the loss of your deposit.

Cancellations and No-Shows

If you cancel at short notice, fail to attend your appointment, or otherwise prevent us from providing the booked service, your deposit may be retained.

Any cancellation charge or deposit retention will be applied fairly and in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.

  1. Late Arrivals

Please arrive on time for your appointment.

Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may be treated as a no-show where the delay means that the appointment can no longer reasonably be completed without affecting the artist, piercer or other scheduled clients.

In such circumstances, the appointment may be cancelled and the deposit may be retained in accordance with our booking terms.

If you know you are going to be late, please contact the studio as soon as possible.

  1. Right to Refuse or Reschedule a Procedure

We reserve the right to refuse or reschedule a tattoo, piercing or other procedure where we reasonably believe that proceeding would be unsafe, unsuitable or contrary to applicable law or studio safety requirements.

This may include situations involving:

  • Missing or unsuitable identification
  • Visible skin conditions
  • Intoxication
  • Unsafe behaviour
  • Inappropriate conduct
  • Concerns regarding the client’s ability to provide informed consent
  • Other circumstances that could place the client, staff or other customers at risk

Where possible, we will explain the reason for the decision.

  1. Alcohol and Drugs

For your safety, you must not attend an appointment while intoxicated by alcohol or recreational drugs.

If our staff reasonably believe that you are intoxicated or unable to provide informed consent, we may refuse to proceed with the procedure and may require you to leave the studio.

  1. Workplace Safety and Code of Conduct

Arcane Tattoo & Piercing is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment.

We have zero tolerance for:

  • Threatening or aggressive behaviour
  • Harassment
  • Bullying
  • Shouting or abusive behaviour

  • Intoxication or drug-related behaviour
  • Deliberate damage to studio property

Any person engaging in serious or threatening behaviour may be asked to leave the premises immediately.

Depending on the circumstances, future bookings may also be refused.

  1. Respect for Staff and Other Clients

Our artists, piercers and staff deserve the same respect that we expect them to show our clients.

We ask all clients and guests to follow reasonable instructions given by studio staff, particularly where those instructions relate to health, hygiene, safety or the tattooing/piercing procedure.

  1. Personal Belongings

Clients are responsible for their own personal belongings while visiting the studio.

Please avoid bringing unnecessary valuables to your appointment.

Arcane Tattoo & Piercing cannot accept responsibility for personal items that are lost, stolen or damaged unless liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

  1. Tattoo and Piercing Results

Tattoo and piercing results can vary between individuals.

Healing, skin type, placement, aftercare, lifestyle and other factors can affect the final result.

Clients are responsible for following the aftercare instructions provided by their artist or piercer.

If you have concerns about healing or your procedure, please contact the studio so that we can advise you appropriately.

  1. Changes to Appointments

Appointment times may occasionally need to be changed due to circumstances outside our reasonable control, including artist illness, emergencies, equipment issues or other unforeseen circumstances.

Where this happens, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you and arrange an alternative appointment.

  1. Acceptance of These Terms

By making a booking or attending an appointment at Arcane Tattoo & Piercing, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to read and understand these Studio Terms & Conditions.
